Oasys Releases Technical Roadmap to Promote Blockchain Game Development

Oasys, as a Japanese gaming public chain focused on bringing Web2 players and game companies into the Web3 era, recently released its technical roadmap, marking an important update on the occasion of its second anniversary. This roadmap addresses current technical challenges and user pain points, proposing corresponding solutions and outlining plans for short-term and mid-term technological development.

The three core components of the Oasys technology roadmap are application data availability, layer two interoperability, and ecosystem scalability. These core objectives aim to address the key technical challenges faced during the development of blockchain games.

In terms of game asset continuity, Oasys has proposed a new method to mirror "game assets" from Layer 2 to Layer 1 to ensure the permanent protection of user assets. Even if Layer 2 data is discarded, user assets remain secure.

To address the interoperability issues of Layer 2, Oasys plans to introduce cross-chain bridges, adopt a universal data format, and standardize APIs to achieve seamless interoperability between different Layer 2s. This will enable users to easily and securely move data and assets between different games within the Oasys ecosystem.

In terms of ecosystem scalability, Oasys works closely with ecosystem partners and existing Layer2 operators to provide the tools and resources needed to support ecosystem development and reduce technical barriers. The Oasys Verse development kit ( Oasys VDK ) allows enterprises to quickly access high-quality Layer2, accelerating project launches and content development.

Oasys's technology roadmap focuses on technological updates and community support within 1-3 years. In the short term (within 1 year), Oasys will be dedicated to standardizing game asset specifications, creating practical use cases, and providing the Oasys Verse development kit, among other things. The mid-term (2-3 years) goals include addressing protocol layer issues, achieving interoperability, and providing developer tools.

In terms of practical application, Oasys has achieved a series of results. For example, it launched the L2 chain XPLA Verse, supporting the well-known games of large South Korean mobile game groups on-chain; cooperated with Japan's SBI Group to expand its influence in the cryptocurrency gaming and NFT market in Japan; and partnered with Kakao's Web3 gaming division Metabora SG to support its expansion into the Japanese market, among others.

Oasys's initiatives not only showcase its technological innovation and strategic vision in the blockchain gaming sector, but also highlight its determination to collaborate with industry giants to jointly promote the development of blockchain games. As the technological roadmap is gradually implemented, Oasys is taking solid steps towards establishing global standards for blockchain games, creating real value for players and developers while bringing new experiences and opportunities to the gaming industry.
