Bitcoin has reached a new record high, continuing a rally that has seen the cryptocurrency's price rise more than 50 percent since Donald Trump's victory in the November 5 election.
The world's largest cryptocurrency briefly surpassed $106,000 (£83,890) before falling back to around $105,000 in Asian trading on Monday.
The Trump administration appears to be much more cryptocurrency-friendly than the Biden White House.
The US president-elect reiterated on Thursday that he is considering creating a national stockpile of digital currency, similar to the country's strategic oil reserve.
