U.S. President Donald Trump warned that China must continue supplying rare earth magnets to the U.S. or face 200% tariffs. The warning came during his meeting with South Korean President Lee Jae-Myung.

Trump said he holds “incredible cards” that could “destroy China,” though he added that he prefers to keep good relations. He also revealed recent talks with Xi Jinping and hinted at a possible China visit later this year.

The warning targets rare earth magnets, vital for technology, electronics, and defense. Despite rising tensions, both nations agreed on August 12 to extend their trade truce by 90 days, giving negotiators more time to work on a full deal.
