Oasys releases a new technology roadmap for chain games, focusing on asset continuity and interoperability.

Oasys Releases Technical Roadmap, Providing New Momentum for Blockchain Game Development

As a public blockchain focused on the field of blockchain games, Oasys has been committed to building underlying infrastructure for Web3 games since its establishment. Recently, Oasys released its latest technical roadmap, proposing corresponding solutions based on current technical challenges and user pain points, and has conducted short-term and mid-term technical planning.

The three core elements of the Oasys technology roadmap are application data availability, layer two interoperability, and ecosystem scalability. These three aspects are the main technical challenges currently faced by the development of blockchain games.

Technical Challenges in the Development of Blockchain Games and Oasys's Solutions

Despite the continuous improvement of the underlying blockchain technology in recent years, there are still some technical shortcomings in the practice of blockchain games. Oasys has proposed targeted solutions by updating its technical roadmap.

Continuity of Game Assets

In traditional Web2 games, the game assets that players acquire often disappear when the game is shut down. Blockchain technology provides a potential solution to this problem. However, with the popularity of modular architecture, the continuity of user assets faces new challenges.

Oasys adopts an innovative approach by mirroring game assets on layer one to provide permanent and continuous protection for user assets. Even if the layer two data is lost, user assets remain secure.

Interoperability of Layer 2 Networks

Oasys's second layer network is called Verse Layer, and each Verse is an independent "small universe" that allows for full customization of games. However, interoperability between different second layer networks has always been a challenge.

To address this issue, Oasys plans to introduce a cross-chain bridge, adopting a universal data format and standardizing APIs to achieve seamless interoperability between different layer two networks. This will enable users to easily and securely move data and assets between different games on Oasys.

ecosystem scalability

Building and maintaining a thriving ecosystem is another major challenge facing public blockchains. Oasys closely collaborates with ecosystem partners to provide them with the necessary tools and resources, supporting ecosystem development and reducing technical barriers.

The Oasys Verse Development Kit (Oasys VDK) allows enterprises to quickly access high-quality Layer 2 networks of preset ecosystem components, accelerating project launches and focusing on content development, thereby achieving scalability for the ecosystem.

Short-term and Mid-term Planning of the Technical Roadmap

Oasys's technical roadmap is divided into two phases: short-term (within 1 year) and mid-term (2-3 years), aimed at keeping pace with the rapid development of the Web3 market.

Short-term planning (within 1 year)

  1. Standardization of Game Asset Specifications: Collaborate with ecosystem partners to achieve the standardization of game asset specifications.
  2. Create practical use cases: Develop use cases for applying standardized game asset specifications in real-time games.
  3. Provide Oasys Verse Development Kit: Provide preset ecosystem components for enterprises to accelerate the development and deployment of layer two networks.

Medium-term plan (2-3 years)

  1. Solve protocol layer issues: Implement a solution to mirror "game assets" from layer two to layer one.
  2. Achieve interoperability: Develop standardized protocols to ensure interoperability between different layer two networks.
  3. Provide developer tools: Development tools that meet the needs of Layer 2 networks to promote the scalability of the ecosystem.

Oasys has made significant progress in the development of real use cases. Recently, Oasys launched the L2 chain XPLA Verse, and several well-known game projects have successively gone live on Oasys, such as "Summoners War: Chronicles" and "The Walking Dead: All-Stars". In addition, the blockchain game "Captain Tsubasa -RIVALS-" based on the Japanese football manga "Captain Tsubasa" has also officially launched on Oasys.

In terms of expanding its ecosystem, Oasys has partnered with Japan's SBI Group to enhance its influence in the cryptocurrency gaming and NFT market in Japan. Additionally, Oasys has also collaborated with the Web3 gaming division of South Korean internet giant Kakao, Metabora SG, to support its entry into the Japanese market.

Through this series of initiatives, Oasys demonstrates its technological innovation and strategic vision in the blockchain gaming sector, while also highlighting its determination to collaborate with industry giants to promote the development of blockchain games. With the gradual implementation of the technological roadmap, Oasys is steadily advancing towards the vision of establishing global standards for blockchain games, creating value for both players and developers, and bringing new experiences and opportunities to the gaming industry.
