A well-known DeFi investor shared his investment journey and insights. This investor achieved a 100-fold return in less than 3 years, becoming one of the most legendary figures in the industry.

He entered the crypto space at the age of 20 in 2017. During university, he majored in economics with a minor in entrepreneurship, and served as the vice president of the investment club. After graduation, he worked as a trader at a large oil company, which laid the foundation for his later crypto investments.

In early 2019, he began to delve into Decentralized Finance and seized the opportunity of the DeFi summer in 2020. Currently, he has founded a crypto investment fund focused on the secondary market and is also an influential industry opinion leader.

He believes that every investor should form their own investment philosophy. Once the philosophy is formed, they should look for suitable investment strategies. Although strategies may be adjusted with market changes, the core philosophy usually does not change easily.

During his growth process, he observed the changing trends of global stock markets and believes that the US stock market has become the only long-term rising market in the past 10-15 years. He tends to invest in growth-oriented projects, such as technology stocks. He believes that cryptocurrencies are well-suited for global investment strategies because they are a globalized asset.

Speaking about specific investment strategies, he stated that the main focus is on selecting small and medium-sized tokens based on fundamentals, with the goal of outperforming Bitcoin and Ethereum. The fund size ranges between eight to nine figures, primarily investing in sectors such as Decentralized Finance, AI, and gaming.

To quickly understand the new track, he proposed a three-step method:

1. Evaluate the integration of this track with cryptocurrency
2. Determine if there is potential for rapid growth
3. Support your views with data and give yourself 3-6 months to validate.

He also shared some investment lessons, believing that in addition to market risk, special attention should be paid to custody risk and counterparty risk. He called for the use of top-tier custody services and strict risk assessments of counterparties.

Regarding market changes, he believes the industry is developing towards a more institutional direction. Judging the timing of entry and exit remains the biggest challenge, requiring a comprehensive consideration of macro factors, market sentiment, and fundamentals.

He also reviewed some successful investment cases, such as a certain game project with a peak return rate close to 2000 times. The DeFi track is one of the most successful areas of his investments.

Finally, he emphasized the importance of the team's moral character. He believes that if a person's character is problematic, no matter how successful the project is, it may collapse in a short time. When choosing business partners, integrity is more important than ability.
