However, the official presidential seal was used on the event invitations and venue decorations, including a podium decorated with the presidential seal from which he spoke to his TRUMP Token investors, which may have violated U.S. federal law. According to federal law, the national emblem cannot be used in a way that may "convey a false impression of government sponsorship or endorsement"; violators may face fines or up to six months in prison. Previously, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was asked whether the government would release a guest list, to which she stated, "The president is attending in a personal capacity, this is not a White House dinner, nor is it being held at the White House."
