Soneium Ecosystem Explosion: 60+ Projects Laid Out in GameFi, Decentralized Finance, and NFT Tracks
Sony Chain Ecosystem Overview: 60+ Early Projects and Potential Opportunities
Sony Corporation recently established a blockchain department and launched an Ethereum Layer-2 network named Soneium, aimed at providing an open internet platform for creators. As a globally recognized company, Sony has a significant influence in fields such as electronics and entertainment media, and its entry into the Web3 space has garnered widespread attention.
Soneium is an Ethereum Layer-2 network co-created by Sony and Startale Labs. Startale Labs has been involved in building Japan's largest public chain, Astar Network. Soneium is built on the OP Stack and integrated with the Optimism Superchain, providing a universal blockchain platform aimed at creators and developers.
The Soneium Minato testnet was launched on August 28, providing developers with an environment to build and test dApps. At the same time, the Spark incubation program was introduced to provide funding and technical support for ecosystem projects. In just half a month, over 60 projects have announced that they will develop or integrate on Soneium.
The following is an overview of the Soneium ecosystem project, categorized by type:
SocialFi
GameFi
RWA
DeFi
Infrastructure
NFT
Agreement
Astar zkEVM, Optimism, Circle(USDC) and so on
Cross-Chain Bridge
Overall, Soneium has attracted numerous projects to join its ecosystem due to Sony's influence, but whether it can stand out in the currently competitive Layer-2 market remains to be seen.
