Solana DePIN Ecosystem Monthly Review: April Revenue Hits New High for the Year, Multiple Projects Shine
In April, the decentralized physical infrastructure network (DePIN) track within the Solana ecosystem achieved its best monthly performance of the year. Data shows that the total revenue for the track reached $458,000, a year-on-year increase of 33%, setting a new record since 2025. This impressive result is mainly attributed to the steady growth of several key projects, including Helium, Render, Hivemapper, and XNET.
Despite record-high revenues, the number of active contributors to DePIN protocols has seen a slight decline. The total number of active contributors for major projects such as Helium, Hivemapper, Nosana, Render, Sallar, Sourceful, and XNET remains at around 87,000. Notably, the number of contributors for smaller DePIN protocols significantly increased in April, with Nosana's growth rate exceeding 100%. In contrast, the number of contributors for larger protocols like Helium and Hivemapper has remained stable or has slightly decreased.
The following is an overview of the performance of some major DePIN projects in April:
Dabba Network
Dabba Network, as a Solana-based DePIN project exclusive to the Indian market, has deployed Wi-Fi hotspots across India using a "managed deployment" model in collaboration with local cable operators. From March to April, its cumulative data consumption doubled to 8000 TB, while device sales increased by 29%, further expanding the network scale.
Helium Mobile
As a mobile virtual network operator under the Helium network, Helium Mobile set multiple new records in April. After opening up free mobile plans to all users, new subscription users surged by 125%, reaching 36,000. The revenue for the month also hit a historical high of $250,000, marking a 34% month-over-month increase. It is worth mentioning that the proportion of data offloading in total revenue has reached 79%.
The average daily uninstallation subscription volume and uninstallation data volume of Helium Mobile increased by 65% and 32% respectively, both reaching a historical high. However, since 2025, the total number of active contributors to Helium has shown a slight downward trend, currently stabilizing at around 75,000.
XNET
As a decentralized mobile network on Solana, XNET continued its positive momentum in April. The average daily unload volume increased by 16% month-on-month, marking XNET's steady growth in data unloading for eight consecutive months. Despite a slight decrease in rewards, the number of active contributors to XNET Mobile still grew by 6%, reaching 732, setting a new historical high.
Roam
In April, Roam added 535,000 WiFi nodes and 87,000 new users, bringing the total number of nodes in the protocol close to 4 million and the number of users approaching 3 million. Although the monthly user check-in volume decreased by 19%, the total number of check-ins has surpassed 300 million, indicating that user loyalty remains strong.
Shaga
The Shaga protocol utilizes idle GPU computing power to support Web3 games, currently supporting 74 GPU models, providing 33.12 TB of storage and 15.27 Gbps of throughput. Within two months, Shaga achieved 4,500 interactive game broadcasts, with a total duration of 50,000 hours, allowing viewers to participate in the streamer's games in real time.
Hivello
As a DePIN aggregation platform, Hivello helps users monetize idle resources. In April, its online duration doubled compared to March, with more nodes joining the contribution network.
Nosana
Nosana is a decentralized GPU computing network based on Solana, focusing on AI inference workloads. In April, the job completion volume and contributor rewards for Nosana saw a slight increase, while the number of GPU nodes remained stable. The newly launched Gaianet AI collaboration project is expected to further drive job growth.
Sallar.io
Sallar supports high-performance computing needs by integrating the idle computing power of devices such as smartphones. In April, Sallar's dollar rewards increased by 27% month-on-month, reaching $11,800, while the number of active wallets remained stable.
Grass
Grass utilizes the idle bandwidth of user devices to provide data support for AI training, data scraping, and proxy services. In April, Grass's data collection volume reached a new high of 34.5 million GB.
Wingbits
Wingbits is an aviation data collection network based on Solana. Since November 2024, the number of flights tracked has increased to 150,000, with daily data points collected rising to 9 billion, representing growths of 7% and 29%, respectively. The number of contributing sites has also increased by 43%, reaching 3,000.
Hivemapper
As a decentralized mapping network, Hivemapper's monthly mapping mileage remained stable in April. Its AI-driven platform for fleet management, Beekeeper, also officially launched in the same month, expected to bring new growth momentum. Since February, the number of active map contributors to Hivemapper has stabilized at around 5,000.
NATIX Network
NATIX Network is committed to collecting street view and geographical data through smartphones and dedicated devices. In April, user-driven mileage has maintained at 11 million kilometers for the third consecutive month.
Sourceful Energy
Sourceful Energy is centered around a decentralized virtual power plant, integrating distributed energy resources. In April, its power output increased by 30%. With the new Zap smart energy efficiency analysis device receiving 500 pre-orders, the growth momentum is expected to continue.
AmbiosNetwork
AmbiosNetwork has built the world's largest environmental monitoring DePIN. In April, its cumulative user ecological data sign-ins exceeded 2 million, with a 12% increase in ecological data sign-ins. The total number of platform users has risen to 45,000, representing a year-on-year growth of 2%.
Overall, the Solana DePIN ecosystem performed excellently in April, with multiple projects making significant progress in user growth, data collection, and revenue. These achievements not only reflect the ongoing appeal of the DePIN model but also showcase the advantages of the Solana ecosystem in supporting innovative decentralized applications. As more projects continue to optimize and expand their services, the future development of the Solana DePIN track is worth looking forward to.
