Lumoz: A modular solution for the unified ZK-Rollup ecosystem

Rollup Platform New Paradigm: Lumoz's ZK Comprehensive Solution

Environment-Driven Rollup Changes

Layer1 expansion is imminent.

The number of Ethereum users continues to grow, and the network is becoming increasingly busy, especially during the launch of primary listing events, when gas fees often rise sharply. At the same time, the continuous increase in ETH token prices has made high transaction fees a barrier to small transactions. Therefore, improving storage efficiency, transaction throughput, and reducing transaction latency is crucial for the development of Ethereum.

Traditional Layer 1 scaling solutions usually include both on-chain and off-chain forms. On-chain refers to optimizations made within Layer 1 by changing the consensus mechanism, implementing sharding, or expanding block sizes; off-chain mainly includes sidechains and Layer 2 solutions. The biggest difference between sidechains and Layer 2 is that sidechains operate on their own security protocols, while Layer 2 relies on the mainnet's security protocol, thus from a security perspective, Layer 2 is generally more advantageous.

In past developments, the implementation logic of Layer2 involves off-chain offline centralized computation to process information, and then transmitting the results on-chain, which not only improves the computational efficiency of transactions but also fully utilizes the high security performance of the ETH mainnet. Currently, the mainstream implementation solutions of Layer2 include three types: Channel, Plasma, and Rollup. Since Rollup is essentially a further extension of the Plasma solution, it has higher security, state validity, and data verification capabilities, therefore Rollup has become the main direction of Layer2 development.

Comparison of Rollup Technology

There are two major branches in Rollup: Optimistic-Rollup and ZK-Rollup. Optimistic-Rollup assumes that the transaction results submitted to the main chain are optimistic, requiring no immediate verification for each transaction, allowing for quick submission and processing of transactions. It sets a challenge period of about a week during which other validators can raise doubts and submit evidence. If the challenge is successful, the transaction will be rolled back, and the wrong party will be penalized.

ZK-Rollup immediately verifies the correctness of transactions through zero-knowledge proofs, ensuring nearly 100% fraud-free transactions. Overall, ZK-Rollup offers higher security compared to Optimistic-Rollup, and there is no delay in transaction confirmation due to a challenge period, providing better application prospects. For this reason, Ethereum founder has publicly stated multiple times that ZK-Rollup is the main line of future Layer2 development.

However, due to the technical implementation difficulties of ZK-Rollup being far greater than that of Optimistic-Rollup, the mainstream market for Rollup technology is still dominated by Optimistic-Rollup. One trading platform is currently the leader in Optimistic-Rollup, holding a 31.36% share of TVL, while the corresponding ZK-Rollup solutions only account for 1.32% of TVL. Therefore, how to build standardized ZK-Rollup solutions and gradually expand their application market has become a key issue. The comprehensive solutions offered by Lumoz may be the key to a breakthrough.

Unified ZK Technical Solution

Lumoz provides a modular computing layer

Modular Rollups provide a new approach to solving the blockchain trilemma. Rollups achieve a layered structure by decomposing the blockchain system into different modules, resulting in more efficient transaction processing and data management, thereby balancing the issues of decentralization, security, and scalability to some extent. Conventional Rollups typically include a settlement layer, an execution layer, a consensus layer, and a data availability layer.

In addition to the four levels of conventional Rollup, Lumoz also includes a Prover Layer. The Prover Layer provides censorship-resistant distributed computation, implements ZKP, and ensures the authenticity and validity of transaction states.

Combining ZK computing resources with re-staking mechanism

Lumoz integrates powerful ZK computing resources with a re-staking mechanism through Lumoz Oracle, zkProver, zkVerifier, and Lumoz Chain. Users can re-stake their already staked tokens, and Lumoz will enhance the security of its Active Verification Service (AVS); at the same time, the staked tokens will serve as collateral for nodes, preventing malicious behavior from nodes.

This process allows multiple validation servers to share a set of tokens, improving resource utilization and computational efficiency, which is extremely important for high computational demands of ZKP generation. Through re-staking, Lumoz can better support various EVM-compatible blockchain environments, increasing the platform's scalability.

Optimize ZKP computation and submission mechanism

Lumoz has optimized the ZKP computation and submission mechanism, supporting parallel computation and sequential submission of ZKP. It breaks down ZKP into multiple subtasks, which can be computed on different zkProver nodes and finally submitted in the correct order.

In addition, Lumoz proposes a novel recursive aggregation algorithm when handling ZKP, which can aggregate multiple ZKPs into a smaller ZKP, reducing the size and complexity of ZKP through a recursive method, thereby lowering the consumption of blockchain storage and computational resources.

Lumoz: New Paradigm of Rollup Platform

Highly compatible ZK-RaaS solution

The original intention of Lumoz is to provide the ZK-Rollup solution with the lowest deployment difficulty and the strongest compatibility. Currently, the ZK-RaaS Launch Base supports all mainstream zkEVM technologies, allowing developers to easily deploy and launch ZK-Rollup through simple operations.

Lumoz's ZK-RaaS platform supports multiple architecture modes:

  • Modular Computing Layer: Supports various Layer 2 solutions, including architectures such as Op Stack + ZK Fraud Proof.
  • Native cross-Rollup communication: Supports native communication between different ZK-Rollups on the same underlying platform.
  • Customizable Infrastructure Services: Provides a variety of services, such as bridging interfaces, customized zkEVM types, block explorers, etc.

These features make the deployment of ZK-Rollup transition from difficult to easy, which may mark the beginning of the trend of ZKP applications.

Token Model

Lumoz adopts a dual-token governance model, providing two tokens: MOZ and esMOZ.

MOZ is the native token of the mainnet and exists as a core asset:

  • Used as gas fee for Lumoz mainnet transactions
  • Pay for the ZKP services and AI computing power services provided by Lumoz
  • Can be exchanged for esMOZ at a 1:1 ratio

esMOZ, as an ecological governance token, is used for the construction and maintenance of the mainnet ecosystem:

  • As a reward to incentivize mainnet power providers and node operators
  • Used for network delegation to achieve decentralized governance

The exchange rate of esMOZ to MOZ changes over time, with different redemption periods and redemption rates. This mechanism can alleviate the pressure of miner tokens on the market and effectively prevent large-scale redemptions of esMOZ after a hacker attack from impacting the market, protecting the rights and interests of MOZ holders.
